Ok guys I'm here ONLY to voice my opinions, hopefully you take them into consideration as I mean absolutely no harm.. I just like to have discussions and voice opinion, please take what I say seriously and not as trying to get on your nerves. Its really sad to see people leave because of petty things and we HAVE lost people because of it. I know this because I still get e-mails from friends and so forth. There is nothing wrong with rules, but when it gets to be too much (like in some legal systems) confusion and controversy overrules what we're all here for in the first place.

"No talking in CAPITAL LETTERS : It's annoying. It's rude. It'll also get you kicked or banned (and this is done automatically, so be careful!)"

Nothing wrong with capital letters to some extent... this is the most pointless script I've ever seen...

For example:
ITS A GIRL
PARTY AT MY HOUSE
DRINKING IS FUN
ALIEN ARENA IS THE SHIZNIT
IRRITANT IS GOD
IRC OPS HAVE TEH POWER

See sometimes people get excited, and ALOT of the time people (generally the noobs) DO NOT KNOW to come here and check the forum nevertheless know wtf a forum is....

Auto kick scripts really need more consideration as instead of kicking for caps... instead why not lower the auto kick limit for spamming?

Maybe a system should be implemented in which you actually warn the newbies and direct them here, because they really need to know the rules before you jump to kick/bans. Honestly 99% of the people that come in DO NOT come here to see the rules... or nonetheless know what irc is. You guys DO do a good job of keeping the channel clean and I respect the fact that you guys keep it going... I have to go now tho my bro is off to school and he's taking his phone. L8r guys.

Everything else is PERFECT!

The only person (other than 1 accident) this caps script caught is you lol (yeah, I log them all). It was added for a reason in response to some stuff that happened in chan when you weren't there, ideally I'd prefer to run no scripts in there, but we need some.

I've relaxed it to a degree :

(Assassin`): WTF UP PEOPLE
(Assassin`): BAH CAP ABUSE FTW
(Assassin`): WOOT
(Assassin`): KEEP IT GOING
(Assassin`): HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
(Assassin`): KICK MEH XD STUPID RULE
(Assassin`): hmmm
(Assassin`): sweet
(Assassin`): i still here

Didn't get caught (even though ya seem to be trying to get caught lol) - tho it would have if we tightened up the spam filter as you suggested

I also didn't implement the anti f*ck script you suggested in chan - which again would probably catch you more than anyone else when yer in drunk, and have ya posting in here saying how pointless it is lol.

I'm interested in what your idea is for a warning system though - If the scripts warn first before kicking, it'll be pretty useless against some of the real bad offenders. If some kind of msg to chan was done every join it'd soon clutter up the chan. Only thing I can see (admittedly not the best option) is what we already have, the forum post containing rules.

hello every 1! im sure some of you have played with me or against me but i have a few q's to ask, first one is about galaxy, when i open galaxy and refresh server list its dead i get nothing, the other thing is about irc. which irc pro.is best to use? i tried irc years ago but really no need at the time and now im finding it interesting to use just for alien arena. i really like you guys and hope i can make it easier to use. i perferr not to use irc but you guys are the pros. and know the tricks of the trade. im installing AR again and hope i can play, i had a mru and some other crap that was an attempt hijack i belive i got during game play, and thats why im having trouble, anyway all the help and advise would be appreciated.

i use icechat, works just fine.
prison.net #alien arena.
about your galaxy problem, you might need to open ports in your
router 27900-27990 i believe.
